Ben Abba' Survives First Night on the Nightwatch Radio Show

I was on the 2nd hour, last night, of the Nightwatch Radio Show, hosted by Todd Sheets. The topic I spoke about was immortals. And the show has been posted on their archives here. It is also available for podcast here. To hear just my segment of the show, forward the audio 57 minutes into the show.

Here is my personal critique of my interview:

It was my first attempt at a radio interview; ever. And I believe I did ok. No matter how prepared I was, it has always been a little stressful for me to do any kind of public speaking; and this was the biggest audience I have ever spoken to so far.

Right off the bat, I noticed that my phone connection was fading in and out; and was quite noisy at times with background static. I could hear other voices in the phone I was using which confused me at times as to whether or not it as my turn to speak. Soon, I was talking quite fast and I believe I may have slurred a few words, here and there. However, as I compose myself, and began to relax a bit, I was able to get my story out for those that were listening to hear my adventures at finding a real immortal. And I was able to spill a few glimpses into this 2,800 year old man's secret life.

All and all it was a very enjoyable experience for me. I look forward to the next opportunity to speak on this topic which I am so passionate about; achieving immortality through following those who have already accomplished this incredible feat.

Dear Ben--I wanted to write and tell you that I just finished listening to your podcast with Todd Sheets and really enjoyed it. I've also gone through your webpages. I've been a science fiction/fantasy/horror writer for many years and so am always on the look out for a 'good story.' I think you are genuine in your assertions (at least you sound that way to me) and I find the immortal story very interesting. I'd not heard of this type of thing before except in the realm of myth. I do hope you've found a publisher. It's tough, I know. I'm republishing my own novels (originally published by Berkley) and have decided self-publishing through CreateSpace was the best way to go. I know you said you have an ebook coming out soon. I will keep checking back to see when it is ready. I also hope your marketing plan pans out, too. For me, that's tougher than getting published! Take care and keep bringing out the interesting subjects.

Hi, Ben

I listened to your interview and felt you did very well. It showcased the passion you feel about your research. I appreciated your open mind, and how you have a good head on your shoulders. I, too have a science background but I have seen things that have made my head spin. The only thing we can do is to try and keep your footing and stream on ahead. I can't wait to read your book and have a peek into your head.
